TYPES OF MACHINES.
Any unit fitted to this group is in for a tough time. Install to an QE standard and repairs are really only maintenance. Should the unthinkable happen and the system went down “we design in” key repair features and that means,

Excavators.
We always supply these cameras with protective boxes because to be in the correct position they must sit near the edge of the counterweight and when operating near or in brush etc. they can be protected. Demolition specification boxes will withstand anything thrown at them and include a cable guard to prevent falling debris from severing the cable. The standard boxes when correctly fitted also protect the camera and were tested with a sledge hammer to ascertain their effectiveness so unless its demolition or waste transfer the standard box is up to the job.
Offside camera views are also an effective method to improve driver visibility.
For excavators over 45 tons it is a must and when this system is fitted in addition to our blind spot eliminator mirrors true 360' visibility is possible.

DUMP TRUCKS
Rear mounted cameras have been standard fit for over 10 years now, how many systems have failed in that time? Our armoured cable is a must because it will spend its entire life in the firing line of all the muck and mud. The monitor and camera units are under constant g shock and the camera must sit right next to the action. Protective boxes should be standard for this very reason.

BULLDOZERS AND TRACKED LOADERS
As with loading shovels rear camera views are usually consistently on, just to help with the drivers spatial awareness. Incredible vibration and dust tests camera equipment to the limit and we are meeting the challenge. Armoured cables, solid steel monitor mounts + rubber bushings for cameras are standard equipment.

Loading Shovels, Scrapers.
A loading shovel camera should be on all the time, allowing the operator to just “be aware” of their environment and also allow them to reverse safely when performing closer manoeuvres. Mounted as high as possible at the back. Boxes are not required all of the time but an armoured cable is a must because the cable leads a difficult path, past radiators + coolers around + over engines + transmissions and finally into the cab. We know our cable is right for the job but most are not.

Scrapers, Planers, Graders, the list is exhaustive but you can be confident that we will be familiar with the equipment and the will to do it right every time.

Rotating, magnetic, led, strobe, xenon, single bolt, 12v,3 bolt, 24v the choice is incredible.
Some sites will demand your machine ceases work if the amber beacon has failed but for our fleet customers we always try for a solution so for once, one size fits all!
But we can help you choose which, and what will give the best life expectancy, are your machines working at the airport? do they need to be fixed? dual voltage? or single?

This system actively ensures your operators are wearing their safety belts when operating equipment.
Site foreman can check at a glance because the green beacon indicates that the belt has been buckled so in the event of a machine rollover the operator will stay in the safest place, IE: the cab.
To help remind them, when the ignition is on the control box emits an obnoxious warning buzzer that will only turn off when the belt has been buckled. A simple but effective step in safe operating practice.
These alternative options is to connect the system to the control circuit’s of most machines to prevent movement without the buckle being connected.

CB RADIOS ARE EXCELLENT FOR SMALL GROUPS OF VEHICLES OPERATING CLOSELY WITH EACH OTHER BECAUSE THEY ALLOW EXCELLENT CONVERSATION WITHOUT THE NEED TO LEAVE THE CAB AND THE LESS PEOPLE “WANDER” AROUND SITES AND MACHINERY THE SAFER THEY WILL BE.

Standard operating lamps as fitted by quality manufacturers are not so easy to come by, with any amount of cheap alternatives available. Poorer units give less light output, more power consumption and a higher consumption of bulbs, always failing when you need it most. We install and repair lighting systems for machines to include switched step lights, gangway illumination and greater light coverage for the machines operating environment. We can even supply new relay boards, looms and switches for older machines when the original systems have failed completely.
Good lighting is the key to operating safely 24 hrs. a day 365 days a year, you cannot perform well if you cannot see.

Mirrors.
Our range of mirrors are specifically manufactured to put up with years of abuse in a construction environment. Used in conjunction with the standard mirror or as a standalone unit they provide unrivalled views of the sides of the machine and its environment, allowing an operator to spot an approaching truck or person long before they get into trouble. One of the key differences between these mirrors and many others on the market is the view is of the surroundings, rather than most, which just stare back at the operator, good for doing your hair and make up but bad for others health!
They are small and unobtrusive so they have the best chance of survival rather than being knocked off at the first opportunity.
Our counterweight mirror is the strongest on the market and features a one piece solid design that has “zero swing” capabilities and actually looks at the ground rather than the sky!

Similar to the reverse sensors for cars and trucks we supply and install radar discs with audio and visual displays in the cab. Operating from 3m 4.5m and 6m the standard range will give excellent service in the right environment. Top specification units can be programmed by laptop to ignore and adjust certain parameters but both are designed for arduous duty and come with a two year warranty. Both can also be set up to provide an additional warning near the radar head should it detect an object, wont make any difference to a concrete post but could wake the sleepy pedestrian!

A variation of this theme is an ‘ OBJECT DETECTION ’ system for more mobile cranes working in interior or close situations.
Initially developed for the renovation at KINGS CROSS STATION to allow drivers early warning of scaffold collision it also saw service inside the MILLENNIUM DOME. Four radar heads monitor the nearest 3 meters of the JIB and High Intensity Lamps at the JIB end indicate to the operator that a object is within the 3 Dimensional air space of the crane head.
Utilising the cranes own power source the units are easily fitted and with the minimum of fuss.

Reverse Alarms
We have a comprehensive range of reverse and travel alarms for every situation. The celebrated BBS TEK white noise broadband sound and more conventional narrow sound.
Having been involved in white noise alarms since their arrival in the UK we can offer strong, sensible advice as to their use and required sound levels, unlike some others we wont mention.
Our own installs always use Deutsch fittings to connect them and we can also supply them direct so your own fitments will be as good as the standard fit that we carry out. Poor connections will lead to poor performance and ultimately failure remember, unseen and unnoticed moisture will begin to travel inside the cable and damage the component from the inside out if the join is bad!
Soldered or sealed joints are permanent and the ability to unplug a reverse alarm is a must during, transmission testing etc.

STROBE SYSTEMS
We have also designed and manufactured several systems to improve other peoples awareness of reversing and manoeuvring plant.
Double and quad strobe systems originally developed for loading shovels working in busy transfer stations have traditionally required the skills of an electrician and often give varied results. We supply and install modular units with only three connections needed to the machine that will give years of service and plenty of warning. Using any combination of blue or red lights these systems can be installed to loading shovels, dump trucks, scrapers and even excavators.

We can supply and fit the Reverse Alert panel which provides a message in a bright LED form that really speaks volumes.
